I provide clinical psychology and therapy services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.

I believe that each person is unique; and so is each individual's therapy.  The first consultation usually focuses on assessing your reason for coming to see me and developing a treatment plan that suits your needs.  Depending on the reason, treatment duration may vary.  Some individuals stay in psychotherapy for years, while others attend as little as one session.

People can utilize psychological services for a wide range of reasons.  These reasons may include day-to-day challenges, adjustment difficulties (e.g., birth of a new baby,relocation, retirement, and bereavement etc.), relationship difficulties (e.g., starting or ending of relationships).  Others may engage in psychotherapy to treat mild to severe mental disorders.  Lastly, many individuals also engage in psychotherapy for personal growth and wellness reasons.

Some reasons for seeking psychological services might include:

  • Anxiety and stress;

  • Depression and other mood related difficulties;

  • Addiction and substance use behaviour;

  • Trauma and Post-traumatic stress;

  • Relationship difficulties;

  • Parent guidance;

  • Difficulties at work;

  • Loss and bereavement;

  • Eating disorders;

  • Psychosis;

  • Developmental challenges (e.g., ADHD, learning difficulties, autism);

  • Personal growth;

  • Career guidance and aptitude assessment; and

  • Cognitive assessment (e.g., "IQ" testing)

The first consultation may be up to 90 minutes long depending on your reason for coming to see me.  However, consultations are usually approximately 55 minutes in duration for adolescents and adults; and up to 45 minutes for children - unless otherwise indicated.

Both cash or medical aid payments are accepted.  I am registered at the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF) and am accredited to most medical aids.  The practice will handle the claim process; however, the client remains responsible for the payment if for some reason your medical aid claim is unsuccessful.
